Getting around Texas Medical Center

TMC runs a free shuttle on two color-coded routes, Red and Green, for patients, visitors and employees within the Texas Medical Center campus. Both routes run on weekdays, and you can follow them live on the TMC shuttle tracker. Source
Houston Methodist Hospital sits on the METRORail line at the Dryden/TMC stop, and Houston Methodist notes that many area hotels offer a free shuttle to the hospital, so ask the hotel whether it does. Source
TMC operates visitor parking garages across the campus. Several connect to hospitals by skybridge, and accessible spaces are generally located near the garage elevators. Source

About Texas Medical Center

Texas Medical Center (TMC) in Houston describes itself as the largest medical complex in the world. Its member institutions include Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, Texas Children's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Baylor St. Luke's, spread across a campus a few miles south of downtown.

TMC runs a free shuttle inside the campus for patients, visitors and employees, and METRORail's Red Line runs along Fannin Street through the medical center. Many hotels in the area also run their own shuttles to the hospitals, so it is worth asking before you book whether yours does.

Parking is in TMC and hospital garages, and it is paid. If you are coming for cancer care or with a sick child, check the hospitality houses below before booking a hotel, and when you call a hotel directly, ask whether it offers a medical rate.
