Getting around Mayo Clinic Downtown Campus

The Mayo and Gonda Buildings connect to other Mayo buildings and local businesses through underground walkways (subways) and above-ground skyways, so you can get around the downtown campus without going outside. Source
Mayo runs a free shuttle between the downtown campus and Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, about every 15 minutes. Free pedestrian escorts and wheelchairs are available for anyone who needs them. Source
Mayo says nearly all area hotels offer a free shuttle to and from the campus and many offer discounts for Mayo Clinic patients, so ask about both when you book. Mayo Concierge Services can point you to home rentals licensed to rent only to patients. Source

About Mayo Clinic Downtown Campus

Mayo Clinic's main campus takes up about five blocks of downtown Rochester. The Mayo and Gonda Buildings are the heart of the outpatient practice, and Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus is also downtown. Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus is about 10 blocks west. The surrounding area is being developed under Destination Medical Center, which includes the Discovery Square research district and the Heart of the City downtown core.

Downtown, a network of underground subways and above-ground skyways connects Mayo buildings to each other and to many nearby hotels, restaurants and shops. You can go between appointments without stepping outside, even in winter. Mayo runs a free shuttle between downtown and Saint Marys.

Rochester has two dozen hotels near the downtown campus. Nearly all area hotels offer a free shuttle to Mayo, and many offer discounts for Mayo patients, so a hotel a short ride away can work as well as one connected to the skyway. Parking in Mayo and city ramps is paid.
